In late 2021 Japanese artist Hiraku Suzuki invited me to provide a story for his collaborative online project Drawing Tube. He had seen an Instagram post I made of a work done with my drawing students at the National Art School, Sydney.
Sometime later he decided to collect the stories together into book form and invited me to provide a small work to be exhibited at the launch of the publication, titled Signals, in Tokyo in July 2022. The work was a still frame from a series of Instagram video posts I’d made during the COVID-19 lockdown titled ‘digital dusk’.
